Tarot Is Not Here to Predict the Future

By Isabella Vale, Founder of Tarot Masters

People often ask me if tarot can predict what’s going to happen. My answer is always the same. I don’t use tarot to foresee the future. I use it to stay present. To connect with myself. To gain clarity, not certainty.

For me, tarot has never been about knowing what will happen next. It’s about understanding where I am now. It’s a moment of pause in a busy world. A way to breathe, check in, and ask myself how I’m really feeling.

When I was younger, I used to wonder about fate. About destiny. But the more I worked with the cards, the more I understood that life isn’t written in stone. We are always co-creating. Tarot just helps me do it with more awareness.

I use tarot when I feel stuck or distracted. Sometimes I use it when I’m feeling inspired too. It’s not just for hard times. The cards bring focus. They remind me what matters. They help me drop into the heart of a question or intention.

On Sundays, I often do a little spread with my morning tea. It sets the tone for the day. Not because the cards tell me what’s coming, but because they offer a gentle nudge. A mirror. A whisper of wisdom that meets me exactly where I am.

Tarot is a form of sacred conversation. It’s me, sitting with my soul. It doesn’t need to predict anything to be powerful. I’ve had cards call me out, lift me up, and show me parts of myself I was afraid to see. That’s what real insight looks like.

I believe deeply that the future is fluid. Every choice we make shifts it. Tarot doesn’t lock us into a story. It invites us to write it with intention. It offers possibilities, not promises.

When someone asks me something like “Will I get back with my ex?” or “Will this job work out?”, I try to gently guide them toward a deeper question. What are you really seeking? What are you ready to let go of? What truth are you avoiding?

That’s where tarot shines. Not as a fortune teller. But as a wise companion for self-discovery and growth.

Today, I read the cards with that same intention. Not to know the future. But to feel more at peace in the present. To walk with more grace, more trust, and more connection to the magic inside me.

So no, tarot isn’t here to predict the future. It’s here to help us remember that we are the ones shaping it, moment by moment.

And that, to me, is the real magic.

In truth and tenderness,
Isabella Vale
