Living in Truth: Why Integrity Is My North Star
By Isabella Vale – Founder of Tarot Masters
One of the deepest lessons life has taught me, again and again, is that truth is everything.
Truth is not always easy. It’s not always convenient. It doesn’t always make people like you more. But it is always lighter. Always cleaner. Always freeing.
And when I talk about truth, I don’t mean just honesty with others, though that matters deeply. I mean that quiet, inner truth. The voice inside that knows. The one that gets louder when we’re still. The one that gets cloudy when we compromise.
I’ve made enough mistakes and taken enough detours to know what happens when I ignore that voice. And I’ve also seen the quiet magic that unfolds when I listen to it, even when it’s hard.
The Simplicity of an Ethical Life
I used to think that “ethical living” sounded like some high-pressure rulebook, or a rigid spiritual standard. But now I see it as the simplest way to live.
When your actions match your values, life becomes a lot less complicated. You sleep better. You stop looking over your shoulder. You stop wasting energy on justifying things to yourself. You stand on solid ground.
Living ethically isn’t about perfection. It’s about alignment.
It’s making business choices that reflect your soul, not your ego.
It’s treating people with care even when they don’t see you.
It’s saying no when something isn’t right, even if it costs you.
The more I practice this, the lighter my heart feels. I don’t mean that life gets easier. But being me gets easier. I don’t have to twist myself into knots or hide behind masks. I get to be whole.
Teaching My Kids the Power of Truth
As a mother, this is one of the most important things I want to pass on to my children.
We live in a world that often rewards shortcuts, image, and people-pleasing. But I want my kids to know that their power comes from their integrity, from that place inside them that cannot be bought, swayed, or silenced.
I tell them, “You don’t have to be perfect. But you have to be true.”
I try to model that in the small things. Owning up when I’ve lost my temper. Saying sorry when I’ve misunderstood. Celebrating when they tell the truth, even if it’s messy or hard.
Because truth builds trust. And trust is the safest home we can create for each other.
Sometimes they roll their eyes, of course. But I know the seeds are being planted.
Tarot: My Compass Back to Truth
People sometimes think tarot is about telling the future. But for me, tarot has always been about revealing the now. The truth of the moment. The energy behind the mask.
Tarot doesn’t lie, even when I wish it would.
It shows me what’s below the surface. What I’ve been avoiding. What I’m not quite ready to admit. And that’s where its power lives.
I can’t count how many times I’ve pulled a card, say, the Seven of Swords, and immediately known, deep in my bones, where I’ve been out of integrity. Maybe with myself. Maybe with someone else. Maybe just quietly drifting from what I know is right.
And in those moments, the cards don’t judge me. They gently nudge me back. They say, “Hey love, come home. You know better.”
Tarot reminds me that truth isn’t punishment. It’s clarity. It’s light in the fog. It’s the hand on your back that helps you realign.
Truth as a Living Practice
When i check in with myself, the questions are simple:
Am I being real? Am I being kind? Am I being true?
Some days I’m aligned. Other days I notice I’ve drifted, maybe a small white lie to smooth something over, or a choice that didn’t feel quite right. But I don’t beat myself up. I just notice. And I return.
That’s the beautiful thing about truth, it doesn’t hold a grudge. It welcomes you back every time you choose it. No guilt. Just clarity.
